The navaid would be searched using the same 'nearest thing with the matching ident' as at present. I.e 30nm along the 41-degree outbound radial from TRN. I imagine the syntax would look something like: This would help with me entering waypoints for many SIDs and STARs where the point is specified as 'D30 TRN' or similar (at least on my Jeppesen plates). One short term feature I'm considering is the ability to specify a waypoint as an offset (distance + radial) from a navaid. I particularly need to know how cockpit designers are using the property nodes of the current route (wp0, wp1, etc) since I am considering changing how the sequencing works, in a way that might break existing Nasal code in this area. To help with this, I'd like to know how people are currently using the route-manager, any features they'd like to see, and any problems they're aware of. ![]() I'm planning to work on this, as well as some other minor features, in the next few weeks. Using the larger jets, I also have many problems with sequencing (i.e not passing close enough to a waypoint for the route-manager to decide it's been reached and move on to the next leg). I'm pretty sure the current system will work as the basis for the first attempt at managing proper flight-plans, but right now it's quite crude. As part of my ongoing work to create a working NAV display (and maybe an FMS, if I have a spare year or two), I'm currently reviewing the route-manager code. ![]()
